About Maggie’s Centre
Maggie’s Centre Glasgow, located at Gartnavel General Hospital, provides free, comprehensive support for people affected by cancer and their families. The centre operates Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, and welcomes visitors without the need for an appointment.
The Glasgow centre offers a wide range of services tailored to meet the diverse needs of those impacted by cancer.
Support Services
- One-on-one consultations: Cancer support specialists with extensive oncological backgrounds provide personalised information and guidance
- Psychological support: A counselling psychologist is available for private sessions, group therapy, or family counselling
- Financial advice: Benefits advisors assist with understanding entitlements, completing necessary forms, and navigating the application process for financial support
Wellness Programs
- Stress management: A dedicated stress and relaxation therapist conducts classes in relaxation techniques, mindful movement, and stress management
- Support groups: The centre hosts various support groups, allowing patients to connect with others facing similar challenges
